Damien Bergerot

A French qualified lawyer since 2014, Damien specializes in dispute resolution (litigation & arbitration). After 7 years in France as a lawyer, including already 5+ at Aramis and several secondments within clients’ in-house divisions, he left for Portugal where he worked for 3 years as a legal consultant, with a Lisbon-based international law firm with a specific focus on Africa (Miranda Law Firm) first and subsequently in-house, as Head of Legal of a French SME based in Lisbon. He is back at Aramis since January 1st, 2025 where he serves as Counsel in the Dispute Resolution and Energy practices of the firm.

 

Damien represents clients in litigation and arbitration proceedings and focuses his practice on domestic and international commercial disputes (including on the African continent, notably within the OHADA region) relating to the performance or termination of contracts, extracontractual liability, disputes involving unfair competition and corporate law litigation (post-M&A disputes, shareholder disputes, directors’ liability). He is particularily well versed in the energy sector.

 

Beyond his dispute resolution practice, which includes Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanisms (ADR), Damien also advises on transactionnal matters, including the drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts.

 

Damien is a member of the Association Internationale des Jeunes Avocats (AIJA), the Association des Professionnels du Contentieux des Affaires (APCA) as well as SciencesPo Alumni.

 

A French native speaker, Damien also speaks English and Portuguese fluently. He has notions of Spanish as well.

He read law at Sciences Po Paris (IEP Paris) and Sorbonne University where he graduated in International Dispute Resolution and International Business Law.
